A penny for your thoughts
As I used to be told
As I was caught deep in thought
Daydreaming
Of far off places
Creating entire worlds in my head
Or contemplating the world's mysteries
Or just pretending to be a cowboy in the old west
Sometimes I was thinking about a song stuck in my head
Or working out a poem before writing
Or dealing with problems at school
A penny for my thoughts
My thoughts are worth more than that
And you know it
