Matthew 8:5-13
When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion
came to him asking for help. “Lord my
servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering.” Jesus said “I will go and heal him.” The centurion replied “Lord I do not deserve
to have you under my roof, Just say the word and my servant will be
healed.” “For I myself am a man under
authority, with solders under me. I tell
this one to “Go” and he goes, I tell this one to “Come” and he comes, I say to
my servant “Do this” and he does it.”
When Jesus heard all this, he was
astonished and said to those following him “I tell you the truth, I have not
found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”
Then Jesus said to the centurion “Go, it will be done just as you
believed it would.”

Faith is believing in something higher
than yourself. Faith is saying “yes”
when all others tell you “no”. Faith is
taking that first step forward, when the path before you is unclear, Truthfully
these are all good descriptions of faith.
However faith is much, much more.
It is a driving force with our daily walk with Christ. Our bodies are like a car, the Holy Spirit is
like the G.P.S. system for that car. Faith requires us to let God and the Holy
Spirit guide us upon the road. Maybe we
are lead to places and paths we are unfamiliar with, but trust in God, and just
let him drive.
