Everyone had a great time

And that was the point

Let me tell you about the bars

You had

Bars for drinking

Bars for singles

Bars for couples

Bars to match your gender

Bars to match your sexual preference

Salad bars

All you can eat bars filled with all kinds of food

There were also hamburger joints all over the place

Build your own burger

Places that specialized in hamburgers

And places that just sold hamburgers

You couldn't go anywhere without seeing at least one

Pizza Hut with red roof Pac-Man video game and the jukebox

McDonalds with the playroom and ball pit

Hard plastic chairs that looked like burgers

Those were the days to be a kid

Before the Internet took over

We stayed out untill the street lights came on

And many others were played

A lot of the time we just made up games on the spot

Kids knew how to use their imagination and we used it well. Remember this was before the Internet took over

MTV really did play music videos

Disney channel and Nickelodeon really meant something

TGIF was the TV line up on Friday Nights

Bicycles

Scooter

Skateboards

Roller skates

And even more filled the streets and sidewalks

Hop scotch

Or just play

Movie rental places were everywhere

You could even go into a grocery store and rent a movie

VHS tapes were all over the place

then DVDs and Blue Ray took over

And the decline began

But

that was your weekend entertainment

When not outside with your friends

Outside was the place to be

Yes I know it seems like a whole different planet

But it was real

And it was how we lived

There were parties all the time
