Build my church (Bible study)

“... upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
(Matthew 16:18b)

When Jesus asked His disciples saying “But who do you say that I am?”, Peter answered correctly acknowledging that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Annointed, the Son of the Living God. The focus was upon the identity of Jesus. He is the mass of solid rock upon which His True Church is being built. He is the Truth. If anything is being built which is not “in” and “upon” Him, then it is being built upon a faulty foundation and upon sinking sand.

The gates of hell, protected by guards of evil, hate, fear, bitterness, and all the powers of darkness... protecting the temporary kingdom of the father of lies and fabricated with layers and layers of lies and deceit, shall not be able to stand against the workings of the Spirit of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. The flesh desires to take over True Christianity by fighting fire with fire, and sword with sword; but the True follower of Jesus Christ is learning to operate solely with the mind of Christ and is knowing the nature of the Real battle that is going on in this present world, (Ephesians 6:12) “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” We are to stand firmly with the truth, righteousness, the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the spirit, and prayer. The True follower of Christ is knowing that (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) “... the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”.
Isn’t it Wonderful that Jesus Christ— the Way, the Truth, and the Life, has come to set us free, not only from continuing to blindly serve the temporary external powers of this world, but also from serving the temporary internal power of our very own selves!

The greatest and most powerful force operating in and through the True Christian is that which radiates from the inside out… that Light which shines in the midst of whatever darkness. The gates and the guardians of hell, and the father of lies himself, are no contest for the wonderfully beautiful fruit of the Holy Spirit which is being supernaturally produced through those who walk in the Spirit rather than continuing to serve and fulfill the desires of the flesh. If we could put on spiritual glasses and see the effect of the fruit of the Spirit upon the temporary kingdom of darkness, we would be shocked to visualize the effects of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control... to see how miraculously these Things ease past the gates and into the prisons which hold captive the souls of men and women! Seeing this Reality with the human eye would “WOW” us more than all the Action, Sci-Fi, Horror, and Thriller movies combined. Maybe if we, who consider ourselves Christian, would each begin to simply show up each day for our own Real Life “in” Christ, we wouldn’t feel the need for so many other forms of “entertainment“.
