The Disembodied hand part 2 (History of the hand) (A short story)

The police arrive at the house.  The mother and child show the police where the hand had been laying.  When they got to the living room They see that the hand is gone.  The knife left in the spot where the hand had been, but the hand itself was gone.  The police take blood samples from the stain on the knife.  The police leave and go to the crime lab.
          After running tests on the blood sample.  They find that the hand had once belonged to a user of an evil wizard, and that the blood dated back to  700 b.c.  It turns out the wizard had been in a sword fight with a nobleman.  The nobleman had cut off the hand (with the sword still in it's grip) and then beheaded the wizard.  The nobleman had thought the fight was over, and thus started to put away his sword.  When the hand lept up and beheaded the nobleman with his foe's sword.
          A few years later a Pope was riding on a cart drawn by a horse.  The horse stopped when it hears a sound in the bushes.  The pope thinking that it was bandits called out" You can have anything you want, just leave me in peace."  The next thing that the Pope knows is that a hand leaps out of the bushes and attacks him.  First setting the cart on fire, then slaying the Pope with his own sword.
          Over the years cults have arisen to worship the hand.  the cults have fallen victims to that which they held their faith in and die.  The deaths were always brutal in their description.
          About 100 years after the Pope killing.  A King and Queen would suffer a worse fate.  The hand had snuck into the King's castle and Waited for the time to be right.  When that time came the hand sprung from the shadows.   Killing the King and his wife.
          The police found more stories connected to the hand.  Kings, Queens, Popes, Presidents, world leaders, even common people had fallen to the hand in one way or another.  Any unexplained murder is known to be the work of the
