Sweet death

Out beyond the pine-woods
The grass grows lush and deep

There in the little meadow
Is where I long to sleep

Below the great white stars of hemlock flower’s
As the nightingale sings his song

And the cold crystal moon looks down
He sings it all night long

The yew-tree spreads out its giant arms
To embrace the sleeper’s fear

No yesterdays or tomorrows
Time is forgotten here

Forgiving life to be at peace
Forgetting all our sin

Hearing only the sound of silence
And the sighing of the wind

Forever Love is with us
Forever love is near

Love is coming with us
Oh sweet death we shall not fear
